Nokia has awarded a three-year contract to Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) in India for the deployment of 4G and 5G equipment. The agreement includes the modernization and expansion of VIL’s 4G network, which will enable more than 200 million users to connect to the premium network. Deployment will begin immediately. As Day.Az reports, this was reported by the Helsingin Sanomat publication.
Nokia will showcase equipment from its industry-leading 5G AirScale portfolio, equipped with energy-efficient ReefShark System-on-Chip technology. It includes base stations, baseband devices and the latest generation of Habrok Massive MIMO radios. They are designed for easy deployment and provide high capacity and 5G coverage.
VIL will also benefit from the MantaRay SON platform for network optimization and automation. It uses self-tuning modules to improve network performance and efficiency. Nokia will provide network planning, deployment, integration and optimization services.
VIL CEO Akshaya Mundra said that this agreement will help provide best-in-class 4G and 5G services. Nokia Mobile Networks President Tommy Uitto stressed that the company is proud of its long-term partnership with VIL and is ready to provide the latest products and innovations from its portfolio.
