normal traffic this weekend, except in New Aquitaine

Main line traffic will be normal for the New Year weekend, with the exception of the Atlantic axis where some trains will be canceled due to a local signalmen’s strike, SNCF said on Thursday 29 December.

“TGV traffic will be (…) almost normal on the Atlantic axis with more than 9 out of 10 trains in circulation” et “slightly disturbed” for the Intercités serving Bordeaux, indicated a spokesperson for the railway group, specifying that “These adaptations are linked to a local social movement of signalmen in the Bordeaux region”.

TER traffic “highly disrupted” also

At local level, TER traffic will be for the same reasons “severely disturbed in New Aquitaine from Friday December 30 to Monday January 2”according to the group.

SNCF recommends that travelers “defer (their) trip or check (their) train or connection the day before at 5:00 p.m. on the TER Nouvelle-Aquitaine site, SNCF Connect or any other mobility application”.

A strike launched on the main lines by a collective of controllers had greatly disrupted the Christmas weekend, but an agreement was reached with management and the movement was not renewed.
