/ On Monday, Nawroz Club coach Wali Karim announced that the current season in the Iraqi Premier League is his last in leading the club’s football.

Karim told Agency, “The reason is some people who are affiliated with the fans of Newroz and Sulaymaniyah Governorate who started harassing him in an unbearable way and transgressing against him in an inappropriate manner that does not match his history and the very good results he has achieved with the team since he took over the mission until now, after any draw or loss that the team is exposed to and demanding his departure.”

He continued, “The type of fans who fight me include those who are friends of players who are not included in some matches, those who have a strange hatred towards me, and those who do not understand anything about football.” He added, “Some have increased their demands and have begun to pressure the players and the coaching staff and will not accept anything less than victory.”

He continued, “That’s why I decided not to continue after all the pressures that affected my situation in general,” explaining, “I will continue until the end of this season out of respect for the management, so that it will be my last season with the team.”

Karim confirmed that he “worked with all sincerity and diligence and did not neglect his work, neither he nor the players, which is why he felt that he was wronged and that what he achieved for the team during his career with it was unfair.”

He added, “I do not think that this decision will affect the players, as I will continue with them until the end of the season. The league is still in its early stages and I know how to deal with the players during the remaining period,” stressing his determination “to achieve good results for the team and to end his career with Nowruz in the best possible way.”

He pointed out that “he has no dispute with the management, and that it is wonderful and provided the team with all its needs and did not neglect anything. I thank its professionalism in work and consider it a model management.”

Nawroz Club is ranked fourth after the end of the 12th round of the Iraqi Premier League with 19 points.
