She found three masked men outside her door. A 45-year-old woman was attacked at her home in Cambrai (North) by three individuals on Thursday evening. According franceinfo, her attackers, two of whom were arrested, came to assault her and threaten her with a handgun. They wanted her to sign a document that made her give up filing a complaint for domestic violence against her former companion, from whom she is in the process of divorcing.
According France Blue, the men then fled in a car driven by a fourth individual. Police officers reportedly tried to block the vehicle which deliberately ran over them without causing any injuries. The suspects then left on foot. Two of them, aged 18 and 19, were arrested.
The victim was able to take refuge with a neighbor who gave the alert.
A judicial investigation has been opened for aggravated violence, aggravated theft, extortion and blackmail, as well as death threats. According to the public prosecutor of Cambrai, three people in all were arrested and should be presented to an investigating judge. According to her, quoted by France Bleu, “at this stage, there is no element to question the husband whose wife was in the process of separating”.
