In the North Atlantic, rescue teams continue to frantically search for a missing submarine.

Five explorers, including a British billionaire, are said to be on board.

Now a diving veteran who should have been on board speaks.

The North Pacific has been running since late Sunday evening feverish search for a missing submarine. It is now clear that there were five people on board the tourist submersible, including British billionaire Hamish Harding. The search for the submarine that was en route from Newfoundland to the wreck of the Titanic is still ongoing and has since expanded into an international operation.

«Should take part in this dive»

Now has one Titanic diver veteran announcedthat he was almost on board too – and will now help with the search: “I was supposed to take part in this expedition and actually on this dive,” writes David Concannon on the Titanic Book Club Facebook page.

But he had to cancel the trip to take care of urgent customer matters. On Sunday he received a call asking him to help the rescue teams search. “Of course I agreed immediately,” the professional diver continues.

“I know you care about the safety of me and everyone else at sea, but PLEASE stop calling, texting, messaging, homing pigeons and all other forms of communication at this critical time. You are obstructing important communications that need to be made to resolve this situation as quickly and safely as possible,” Concannon concludes his post.

Boats and planes search for submarine

Meanwhile, there is still no trace of the missing submarine on Monday evening. Boats and at least two planes were deployed at the suspected location around 1400 kilometers east of the North American coast, as the US Coast Guard announced on Twitter on Monday. “All of our attention is given to the submersible crew members and their families,” Oceangate said. “We are working on the safe return of crew members.”
