BENI – On the night of this Wednesday to Thursday, March 9, 2023, terrorists raided the village of Mukondi, located on the Butembo-Benin axis, killing more than 36 people. The information is confirmed by the governor of the province of North Kivu on leave who advances a still provisional assessment of 36 people killed and wounded.
“The Mukondi village attacked last night by the ADF was completely burned. Provisional assessment this morning, 36 people killed and also injured,” tweeted Carly Nzanzu Kasivita, informs ‘Les Volcans News’.
According to the head of the provincial executive of North Kivu, the search continues before pleading for the installation of military positions in Lisasa and Pabuka for the security of users of the Butembo-Beni road. “It is urgent to deploy military positions in Lisasa and Pabuka otherwise the Butembo Beni road remains vulnerable” he continues.
So far, no communication from the government has been made, the time for the authorities of the territory as well as the army to contain the situation in the area.
It should be remembered that the territory of Beni is one of the entities of North Kivu having been the victim of atrocities by armed groups (such as the ADF) since 2014.
