North Korea criticized Germany on the 6th, saying that its joining the United Nations Command would worsen the situation on the Korean Peninsula.

North Korea’s Foreign Ministry announced in a spokesperson’s statement that day, “We consider Germany’s accession to the ‘United Nations Command’ an act that destroys peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and aggravates the situation, and we strongly condemn it.”

The spokesperson defined Germany’s accession to the United Nations Command as an “inappropriate act” that “does not help maintain peace in the Korean Peninsula and has a severe negative impact on the development interests of the Republic (North Korea).”

He also warned Germany, saying, “Germany should keep in mind that military intervention in the Korean Peninsula, the world’s largest hotspot, will act as a malignant factor in their security and image maintenance,” and “Germany will bear full responsibility for all consequences.”

The spokesperson also said, “The current military confrontation on the Korean Peninsula is becoming increasingly serious by the day,” and “We will take more thorough measures to strengthen self-defense capabilities to protect the country’s sovereignty and security interests.”

Germany, a country that provided medical support during the Korean War (6/25 War), joined the United Nations Command as the 18th member state on the 2nd.
