North Korea, Kim’s first missile tests during the Biden era

by time news

North Korea tested two short-range missiles. This is the first launch since Joe Biden took office in the White House. The launch, an American source explained, took place on Sunday, shortly after a visit to South Korea by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. Several experts believe that these are two ‘cruise’ missiles, which travel a guided trajectory. According to the same experts, it would be a “relatively moderate response” to the joint military maneuvers that have just carried out Washington and Seoul.

In February, the Biden administration tried to make contact with Pyongyang, but the attempt was unsuccessful. Washington is therefore developing a strategy towards the country led by Kim Jong Un. Last week North Korea warned that it will not change its mind about the US until it gives up its “hostile policy” towards it.
