SEOUL – North Korea released images of new nuclear weapons shortly after a US aircraft carrier arrived at its naval base in Busan for joint military exercises with South Korea. These are images of small but highly destructive weapons that could be used as warheads on intercontinental missiles arriving in the US. The official KCNA media agency said more such nuclear weapons would be built to expand the country’s arsenal. Pictures of North Korea’s supreme leader Kim Jong Un visiting the Nuclear Weapons Institute and inspecting them have also been released.
