North Korea today (Thursday) accused the United States and South Korea of dragging the Korean Peninsula to the brink of nuclear war, referring to joint military exercises that the two countries are currently holding, and that these are actions that increase tensions, as a “trigger that may lead the situation on the Korean Peninsula to to explode”.

Last March, Seoul and Washington strengthened security and defense coordination, with the expansion of military exercises, including amphibious landing capability exercises, which were held for the first time in five years. North Korea strongly condemned the actions, saying it was a pre-invasion rehearsal.
