jpnn.comMANADO – North Sulawesi (Sulut) Regional Police recorded 5,492 violations during the week of the 2024 Samrat Safety Operation on March 4-11 2024.

“The most traffic violations in the two-wheeled vehicle category are dominated by not wearing a helmet, using a muffler that does not comply with specifications and riding with more than two people,” said Head of Public Relations of the North Sulawesi Regional Police, Commissioner Michael Irwan Thamsil, in Manado, Tuesday.

He explained that the number of violations for not using a helmet reached 1,329 cases, followed by exhaust violations with 339 violations and riding with more than one person with 205 violations.

For the four-wheeled vehicle category, the highest violations are not using a seat belt, overloading and using a cellphone while driving.

“The number of violations for not wearing a seat belt was 760 cases, then overloading was 165 violations and using a cellphone was 45 violations,” he said.

The total number of violations caught during the week by the North Sulawesi Police Samrat Safety Operations Task Force and staff was 5,492 violations.

“Of the total 5,492 violations, 4,968 violations were subject to warnings by officers in the field, while 524 violations were subject to static E-TLE tickets,” he said.

Meanwhile, the number of traffic accidents during the week of Samrat Safety Operation 2024 reached 27 cases, with two deaths, six people seriously injured and 34 people slightly injured.

The North Sulawesi Regional Police found 5,492 violations within a week of carrying out the Samrat Safety Operation.
