Chief Minister MK Stalin will hold consultations with district collectors as the Meteorological Department warns of further intensification of the northeast monsoon.
The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in southern Tamil Nadu from the 25th of this month due to the formation of a new low pressure area in the southwestern Bay of Bengal. Due to the heavy rains that have already lashed various districts of Tamil Nadu, rescue and relief operations are being carried out on a war footing. In this context, the northeast monsoon in Tamil Nadu is expected to intensify due to the newly formed low pressure area. In this context, Chief Minister MK Stalin will hold consultations with all district collectors on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister is expected to discuss measures including mitigation of rain damage, immediate recovery and relief work during the video conference, which will be held at the General Secretariat.
