Norway tops medal table at Winter Olympics in China
The Winter Olympics in China are in full swing. Alex Hale and Nicholas Cooper of the United States won gold and silver, respectively, in the Slope Style. Sweden’s Jasper Jader won the bronze medal. The competitions were held in minus 24 degree cold.
The Slovakian team shocked the United States in the quarterfinals of the men’s ice hockey tournament and qualified for the semifinals. With this, Slovakia is close to winning its first medal in the history of the Winter Olympics
The Canadian team was fortunate to win in the Speed Skating category. Canada faced defending champions Japan in the final. Canada easily won the gold medal after Japan’s Nana Takagi failed in the final.
The Norwegian team has won 28 medals so far, including 13 gold. Germany is 2nd and the United States is 3rd.
