An award ceremony was held last Saturday to honor the players and coaches of the Indian B team who won bronze medals in the open category of the 44th Chess Olympiad at the private Nakshatra Hotel in Anna Road, Chennai. World Chess Federation President Bharat Singh Chauhan, Indian chess players and coaches participated in this. Players and coaches were felicitated by awarding bronze medals in the India Open Division B team.
Bharat Singh Chauhan, who addressed the stage earlier, said, “It was difficult to complete the Olympiad. But we managed. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin is the real hero of Chess Olympiad. It is difficult to issue visas to chess players from 185 countries in two months. But we managed it.
Not a single player complained about the food at the Chess Olympiad. Earlier in the matches held in many countries, the players have complained about something. They complain a lot about food in particular. But we never got a single complaint about the food from a single player in this chess olympiad. The Tamil Nadu government was very helpful. “If we can hold one Olympiad in 4 months, we can hold as many Olympiads as we want,” he said.
