jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has officially appealed the five-year prison sentence handed down by the panel of judges at the Jakarta Corruption Court against former Wijaya Karya (Wika) Independent Commissioner Dadan Tri Yudianto.

The appeal statement was submitted by the KPK prosecutor team on Wednesday (13/3).

“KPK prosecutor Wahyu Dwi Oktafianto has finished stating his legal appeal against defendant Dadan Tri Yudianto,” said KPK spokesman Ali Fikri in his statement, Thursday (14/3).

Ali explained that his party’s background in pursuing an appeal was because the prison sentence did not fulfill a sense of justice. The KPK prosecutor’s team wants Dadan to be sentenced to eleven years and five months in prison.

“The complete legal arguments will be explained by the prosecutor’s team in the appeal memorandum and immediately sent via Panmud Tipikor to the Central Jakarta District Court,” said Ali.

Previously, on Thursday (7/3) evening, the panel of judges at the Corruption Crime Court (Tipikor) at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN) sentenced Dadan Tri Yudianto to five years in prison and a fine of IDR 1 billion, subsidiary to three months in prison.

The judge assessed that Dadan had been proven together with the inactive Secretary of the Supreme Court (MA) Hasbi Hasan to have received bribes worth IDR 11.2 billion in connection with the processing of the Intidana Savings and Loans Cooperative (KSP) case.

Of this amount, Dadan was proven to have received IDR 7.95 billion.

The Corruption Eradication Committee considers that the prison sentence sentenced to Dadan Tri Yudianto does not fulfill the sense of justice.
