Not because of chocolate: a 70-year-old passenger rioted on the flight and the reason is questionable

by time news

Remember El Al’s chocolate flight? So it turns out that not only Israelis behave in a blatant and ugly manner with airline flight attendants. This lady caused a commotion on the plane and the consequences were serious.

A woman in her 70s attacked a flight attendant on a 2JET flight that took off from Manchester in the UK to the island of Rhodes in Greece. It is claimed that the lady who asked for free champagne was refused and ordered a gin and tonic instead. But after she got drunk, she started attacking the staff member and her drink was taken away from her at that moment.

The woman began to become more and more aggressive, when the employee tried to calm her down, but her body language indicated that she was not going to stop her actions. After this failed to control her, the angry pensioner got up from her seat and slapped him twice. Another member of staff is seen later in the video trying to restrain the lady, who sat back in her seat before the video cut off.

The pilot had to divert the plane to Munich, Germany, where the woman, whose name was not given, was taken off the plane by nine police officers. The plane then lands for about two hours before eventually making its way to its destination.

A 2JET spokesperson apologized for the inconvenience caused to the other passengers: “We confirm that flight LS819 from Manchester to Rhodes was diverted to Munich Airport yesterday to deal with a case of serious violence against our crew members.” He added: “We would like to apologize to customers for the unexpected delay and inconvenience caused. The safety of our colleagues and customers remains our top priority, and as a family-friendly airline, we take a zero-tolerance approach to this type of behavior.”

The video was posted on the social media site TikTok where it garnered over 25,000 comments. “Too much wine,” wrote one surfer. Shani responded: “Welcome to the flight blacklist.” A third added: “What the hell is wrong with people who behave like this?”.
