Thrissur: A large quantity of e-cigarettes was seized from two shops in the city. The e-cigarettes were seized from Vogue Duty Free Shop in West Kota and Tools Tattoo Center in West Stand. The anti-narcotics squad of the Thrissur City Police and the Town West and East Police jointly conducted the investigation.

The raids took place at various centers after the parents found e-cigarettes from a school student in the city and reported this information to the police. When the parents checked the student’s bag, they found the e-cigarette in the bag. At first glance, it seemed to be candy, but upon closer inspection and questioning, I was convinced that the item was an electronic cigarette. The boy also revealed that it is sold at a duty free shop in the city. The parents reported this information to the police.

During the inspection conducted by the police, a large stock of e-cigarettes was recovered from two shops. Its sale was charged up to 2500 rupees. Import and sale of e-cigarettes is prohibited in India. This is an offense punishable with imprisonment of one year and a fine of Rs. Health workers also point out that children can become addicted to e-cigarettes once they use them.
