The Kerala Blasters’ dream of a third consecutive victory was dashed. Jamshedpur drew 1-1 with FC (1–1). The Blazers responded through Sahal Abdul Samad to Jamshedpur, who took the lead through Greg Stuart. Sahal is scoring in the third match in a row. The Blasters’ victory was blocked by the referee’s penalty in the 36th minute.
The Blazers are third in the table with 13 points. The second point is the same point for Jamshedpur. But they went ahead on goal difference. Mumbai City is number one (15).
Stuart put Jamshedpur ahead in the 14th minute. Then Sahal’s equalizer came. Jamshedpur goalie TP Rahnesh blocked Alvaro Vazquez’s delivery. Sahal got the ball. This time Rahnesh could not escape.
The ball then bounced off the Vazquez box and into the hands of Laldinliana, but the referee did not award a penalty. Both teams tried to take the lead in the second half but missed. The Blasters’ next game is against FC Goa on January 2.
