Former president of Congress party Rahul Gandhi is participating in the Indian unity journey called ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. He started it from in front of Gandhi Mandapam in Kanyakumari.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin presented the national flag to Rahul Gandhi and inaugurated the padayatra. After this, Rahul Gandhi walked about 700 meters carrying the national flag and addressed the public meeting on the Kanyakumari beach road.
The 3rd day of Padayatra was completed yesterday. He continues his padayatra for the 4th day today. He has been meeting and talking to various people in between his travels.
In this case, Rahul Gandhi met Tamil Nadu priest George Ponnaiah. A video of this meeting is going viral. In which, Jesus Christ is a form of God? Is that right? Asks Rahul Gandhi too. When George Ponnaiah responds, he says that he is the true God.
He continues, God has revealed himself as male. He has said that we see a man as a real man…not as a force…and so.
Ponnaiah has a history of being embroiled in controversies for making inflammatory statements in the past. In July last year, Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and DMK met in Kallikkudi area of Madurai. He was arrested by the police for hate speech against the minister and others.
He was arrested on July 18 last year for his hate speech targeting the Hindu community. Rahul Gandhi met and talked to Ponnaiah at the Muttidichan Rock Christian Church in Puliyurkurichi.
According to BJP’s National Spokesperson Sheshad Poonawalla, Rahul Gandhi met George Ponnaiah who said Jesus is the only God unlike Shakti (and other Hindu Gods).
Poonawalla also said that earlier, it was Ponnaiah who was arrested for controversially saying that I wear kalinis (shoes) so that I don’t get spoiled by the impurities of Bharata Mata. Thus, the Bharat Unity Yatra is being conducted along with people involved in the controversial Bharat Tolla. Poonawalla said that this is a Jodo Yatra and not a Dodo Yatra and the Congress party has a long history of anti-Hindu attitude.
