GuJarathi’s film ‘Chello Show’ has been selected as India’s official film for the Oscars. Chello Show was selected in the feature film category beating films like RRR and Kashmir Files.
Chello Show is a film directed by Pan Nalin with children as the central characters. ‘Chello Show’ means ‘last movie show’. Bhavin Rabari, Bhavesh Srimali, Richa Meena, Dipen Rawal and Paresh Mehta are the main actors in the film. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2021.
Cello Show won the Golden Spike award at the Valladolid International Film Festival last October.
Rumors were that either Rajamouli’s Brahmanda film RRR or Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files would be the official entry. The 95th Academy Awards will be held in March 2023.
