Berlin – In the Vivantes Clinic Friedrichshain they have found a regulation for the area that primarily generates the income. Four operating theaters will remain in operation during the strike, plus one room for emergency operations. “The rest of them are on strike,” says a nurse who is involved in the strike by the Verdi union. Like her colleagues in the Charité facilities, she is fighting for better working conditions. They are also currently fighting against Vivantes management claims that they are endangering patient welfare with their open-ended strike. “That is simply wrong,” says the operating room nurse from the Friedrichshain Clinic. “The normal situation in hospitals is what puts patients at risk.”
