This morning, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) carried out an operation in coordination with the National Civil Police (PNC) that resulted in the capture of six people, including lawyers and notaries, accused of expropriating properties of different victims. The stolen assets have a total value of $400,000.00.
Among those detained, Janet Celina Cruz de Ramos stands out, who, using her role as a notary, granted a false public deed with which the property was transferred from a victim to another person. This property was valued at $151,000.00. Investigations reveal that Cruz de Ramos committed this crime using fraudulent documents between 2018 and 2023.
Another of the most significant cases is that of Evelyn Xiomara Muñóz Flores, who deprived her life partner of a property valued at $25,000.00. Muñóz Flores took advantage of the fact that the victim was out of the country and created a false power of attorney to later sell the property.
The others captured were identified as Ángela Nohemy Bardi, Daysi Yaneth Medina Alfaro, Hugo Noel García Escobar and Marco Antonio García Jiménez. All of them are charged with the crimes of material falsification, ideological falsification, aggravated documentary falsification and use and possession of false documents.
During the operation, raids were carried out in different parts of the country, including San Salvador, Soyapango, Apopa and Santa Tecla. The authorities have reported that they will continue investigations to completely dismantle this criminal network that was dedicated to stripping victims of their properties through the use of falsified documents.
