jpnn.comJAKARTA – The House of Representatives (DPR) has never received a letter from the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) to discuss the transfer of additional hajj quotas.

Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Inquiry Committee Ace Hasan Syadzily denied the narrative that parliament was busy with the 2024 elections and therefore did not want to discuss the letter from the Ministry of Religion in January-February this year.

“Not busy, we have strategic and important matters,” said Ace to the media crew, Monday (2/9).

However, said the Golkar faction legislator, Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives until February 2024 had never received a letter from the Ministry of Religion discussing the transfer of additional Hajj quota.

“Never received an official letter from the Ministry of Religion to request approval from Commission VIII regarding the quota transfer policy,” said Ace.

Previously, there were allegations from the Indonesian House of Representatives regarding the misappropriation of the 2024 Hajj quota by the Ministry of Religion from the original allocation for regular, then allocated for special.

For the 2024 Hajj, Indonesia received a Hajj quota of 221 thousand pilgrims to be sent to Saudi Arabia.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) then came to Saudi Arabia with the result that Indonesia’s Hajj quota increased to 241 thousand pilgrims.

The House of Representatives (DPR) has never once received a letter from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) to discuss this issue. What is it?
