Notice for 166 encroachments in Theni Rajavaikal

by time news

The Public Works Department has issued a notice to remove 166 encroachments in Theni-Teni Rajawaikal and has speeded up the encroachment removal work.

The Rajavaikal in Theni city area starts from the Theniaru dam area and reaches Tamaraikulam via Subpantheru and Project Road. The length of the canal is 2.67 km.

Many people have occupied this canal and built shops, houses and rented it out.

During the rainy season, these drains get blocked at places and the rainwater gets stagnant in many parts of the city without any way to drain away. Due to this, it is common for many areas to get flooded with rain water.

The municipality has recently started dredging to drain away rainwater. But it was useless because it was not completely removed.

In this case, the Public Works Department is issuing notices under the Lake Protection and Encroachment Removal Act to remove 166 encroachments in Theni Rajavaikal.

Notices have been issued against many encroachment houses. They have asked to remove the encroachments within 21 days from the date of the notice.

If it is not removed, they are intensifying the action to remove the encroachment through the Public Works Department.
