The bypass in Schüttdorf went into operation a year ago. Since then, traffic has fallen by 20 percent on the B311 and by a good 30 percent on the B168, according to a study by the state of Salzburg.
The improvements are particularly noticeable for commuters, travel times have been reduced by up to half at peak times. There were also no significant traffic jams in the summer of the previous year, even at times of the day with the greatest traffic volumes.
