MELBOURNE: Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has won a case against him in Australia for failing to comply with a vaccine. The Australian Federal Circuit Court has overturned the Australian Government’s decision to revoke the visa. With this, the player can stay in Australia. He will also be playing in the Australian Open for the historic 21st career Grand Slam title.

Federal Circuit Court Judge Anthony Kelly overturned the government’s order and ordered Djokovic’s release as soon as possible. Djokovic was detained at Melbourne airport for failing to receive the Kovid vaccine, his visa was revoked and he was remanded in custody and transferred to a hotel.

Djokovic appealed to the court, citing Kovid’s arrival in December, when he was not vaccinated and later came to the Australian Open because the vaccine was waived.

Joko arrived at Melbourne Airport on June 6 to attend the Australian Open, which starts on January 17. The Australian government revoked Joko’s visa and detained him at a hotel where he was staying for violating immigration laws, alleging he had failed to produce documents proving whether he had received the Kovid vaccine or not. The actor then approached the court.

With the opportunity to play in the Australian Open, Joko has the opportunity to become the most Grand Slam champion in men’s tennis. He currently holds 20 Grand Slams and shares the record for most Grand Slams in men’s tennis with his contemporaries Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. If he wins in Australia, Joko Widodo will be able to break the record on his own. Federer and Rafael Nadal have been ruled out of the Australian Open due to injury.
