a robbery full blown, with vans used to block the road and to break through a wall. It is the film episode staged on the night between 11 and 12 November in Sillavengo, in the province of Novara, where a group of criminals robbed the warehouses of Loro Piana, a leading global manufacturer of cashmere clothing. The thieves, a commando of six people, in fact placed two heavy vehicles at the entrance and exit of the Piedmontese town and, after having isolated it, they used two more to break into the warehouse of the company from which they stole eight cartons full of garments. The moment ofChase, with the carabinieri who, once the fleeing gang has been intercepted, have shot in the wheels of one of the vehicles being thrown at spike nails to punch the wheels. But that’s not all: a fire extinguisher was thrown against a carabinieri car (the impact was avoided thanks to the driver’s skill) and gunshots were fired. In the end, both the pursuers and the pursued ended up against a wall and the latter have cut the rope passing through the fields. They are still sought after.
According to the surveys carried out so far, the one scored by the gang was a long-thought-out coup and in the smallest details. This can be guessed, for example, by the three out of four vans that ended up in the hands of the investigators, that is, the one that crashed during the escape and the two abandoned along the road to block the center of Sillavengo: from the checks it emerged that all had been stolen a few weeks earlier in Lombardy, around Milano, precisely so that they could then be used during the robbery. An apparently perfect plan, therefore, which instead was ruined by the alarm of the company, with which the thieves had evidently not dealt with. As they loaded the boxes with the stolen goods into the vehicles, the siren of the Loro Piana it was in fact triggered and forced them to flee from the back of the building. It was at that point that the carabinieri intervened: 6 kilometers from the place of the theft, while on their way to the scene, the Arma soldiers intercepted a vehicle with half criminals on board and attacked insert it, also managing to shoot him in the wheels. The commando then launched hundreds of nails on the roadway piercing the tires of six cars: the three used by the carabinieri plus as many by some passers-by and two by the traffic police added in the meantime. Just as the pursuers were forced to give up, the three robbers also stopped their race by crashing into a road barrier: from there the abandonment of the vehicle and escape on foot into the fields. In the dynamic, no one was hurt.
They were found in the van body four boxes of sweaters, it is assumed about half of the stolen goods, while the other would have been taken away on the fourth vehicle not yet traced. The damage estimate for Loro Piana it has yet to be reconstructed, but starting from these elements and from the videos of the company’s surveillance cameras, the carabinieri of the mobile radio department and the investigative unit hope to be able to trace useful clues to discover the identity of the robbers. In the meantime, given the origin of the vehicles, the searches are concentrated in the Milanese.
