New Delhi: It is safe to say that this year’s festive season has not been a happy one for automakers.

The reason is that despite the increase in demand for vehicles in the market, global ‘semiconductor chip’ shortages have had a significant impact on sales.

However, Tata Motors has seen a 25 per cent rise. Meanwhile, Hyundai fell 21 per cent and Maruti Suzuki fell 9 per cent. ‘TVS, Motor’ saw a decline of 15 per cent and ‘Bajaj Auto’ saw a decline of 10 per cent.
