Land Rover has undoubtedly taken its time developing and fine-tuning the new Range Rover Sport SVR, but the high-performance crossover is finally ready to be unveiled.
According to the British, the Range Rover Sport SVR 2024 will be presented to the world on May 31. As such, it will be known as the Range Rover Sport SV and promises to be a “performance champion” that “will feature a range of innovative technologies that are world-first, industry-first and Range Rover-first”.
Spy photos have revealed that it will have a different grille than the regular lineup and will have new front and rear bumpers, thicker side skirts, a more aggressive rear diffuser, a larger wing and four rear tailpipes. Improved brakes will provide the stopping power and the alloys rotating around the calipers will be unique to this model. Same goes for some exterior colors, rumor has it, and elsewhere, it will feature special badging throughout.

Some extra carbon fiber finishes are expected in the interior to contribute to its sporty character. Look for sportier front seats with additional side bolsters as well as bespoke upholstery. Contrasting strings and piping too, as well as what should be dedicated loading screens and submenus on the digital dials and infotainment system, are also included. The SV emblem will likely wrap up the makeover as everything else, including equipment level to some extent, will be the same for the rest of the family.
For the new generation Range Rover Sport SV, Land Rover decided to ditch the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 and opt for a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 instead. If displacement sounds familiar, that’s because you’re looking at the engine from the BMW M, which is used in a number of models, such as the X5 M, with the 616 hp (625 hp/460 kW) Competition variant and 553 lb-ft ( 750 Nm) of torque. The British model could be around the same power and will likely offer similar performance to the German vehicle, which can continue accelerating up to 285 km/h when ordered with the available M Driver’s Pack, handling the 0-97 km/h acceleration in 3.7 seconds.
All details about the 2024 Range Rover Sport SV will be announced in just over a month, as we already said. The auto brand claims it will be offered “by invitation only” in a limited edition spec at first, so perhaps we’re looking at some enhancements inside and out to set it apart. However, the powertrain will likely remain untouched, or so we think anyway.
