There’s something for everyone in Overwatch 2: Invasion, Blizzard Entertainment’s latest installment of cross-platform team-based action gaming. Starting today, players can join the heroes answering the call to save the world in three story missions in Overwatch 2: Invasion, plus jump into battle with Illari, the new support hero from Peru. There are also two huge maps where you can challenge yourself in the new Critical Point PvP mode and much more.

Today’s update includes:
Overwatch 2 Story Missions: Invasion: Players will travel to Rio de Janeiro, Toronto, and Gothenburg to explore the beginning of the Overwatch 2 story. With all-new cinematics and hundreds of voice lines, players can explore the beginning of the Overwatch 2 story with their friends.
Illari, new supporting heroine: Illari, the 38th hero to join the game, is Peru’s first addition to the Overwatch roster. With her solar powers, she is able to use medium and long range abilities to heal and attack at her convenience.
Critical point, new game mode– Two new maps are coming to the PvP rotation with the introduction of Critical Point: Suravasa and New Junk City. Players will battle for capture points in this non-linear PvP map experience, testing their creativity and teamwork in all new ways on the larger Overwatch 2 maps.
Underworld Cooperative Mission: Join your friends in a limited time event mission where they will face new enemies from the Null Sector in an unexplored area of King’s Row. Weekly modifiers will be applied providing players with new challenges throughout the season.
New hero progression system: Gain experience with your favorite heroes and progress your overall player level to earn unique name cards and other rewards. The new progression system tracks the play style and progress of each of the 38 heroes through a new interface.
In the season, the hero mastery for Winston, Mercy, Reinhardt, Sojourn, and Tracer so players can upgrade their skills with them and climb the hero leaderboards. More heroes will come in the future!
