New Delhi: Tickets for Namo Bharat trains can now be booked on the IRCTC platform. This will make it easier for passengers to make all transport related bookings from one place. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) have entered into this agreement to improve the travel experience for passengers of Namo Bharat trains on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor under the ‘One India-One Ticket’ initiative. This ticket will be valid for 4 days around the travel date. The Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project implemented by NCRTC in the National Capital Region is a new high-speed and capacity comfortable passenger service connecting regional centers in NCR. Currently Sahibabad-Modinagar North section is operational. Work is underway to connect other cities to Delhi. The aim of this agreement is to provide a seamless travel solution. Which will make it easier for passengers to use both Indian Railways and RRTS services.

Booking will be possible as an add-on service

After booking IRCTC train e-ticket, passengers will now be able to book Namo Bharat train tickets for up to 8 passengers at a time as an add-on service. The RRTS booking option will appear on the PNR confirmation page. It can also be accessed from the train ticket booking history of the users. A separate QR code will be generated for each RRTS ticket. It will be easily printed on the Electronic Reservation Slip (ERS).

The QR codes will be valid for a total period of 4 days, one day before the RRTS travel date, on the travel date and two days after the travel date. Each passenger on the train ticket will receive his/her own Namo Bharat ticket with a dedicated QR code. This will ensure a hassle-free travel experience. All Namo Bharat tickets booked for the same train ticket will be for the same origin and destination station for all passengers.

The special thing is that now Namo Bharat tickets can be booked up to 120 days in advance even at the current railway reservation window (ARP). On successful booking of Namo Bharat ticket, users will get confirmation through SMS and email with separate RRTS QR code details sent to the registered mobile number and email address.

How much will the service charge be?

NaMo Bharat Train ticket fare will be easily collected using online payment methods available on IRCTC platform along with IRCTC convenience fee (Rs 5 + taxes). Users will be refunded the full RRTS fare in case of ticket cancellation. However, IRCTC convenience fee, payment gateway charges and related taxes will not be refunded.

Users can easily scan their RRTS QR code at the station entrance using ERS or mobile app to log in and travel as per the booked journey details. NaMo Bharat Train tickets can be booked through IRCTC platform (train, air, bus, chatbot, etc.). After booking the train ticket, if a nearby RRTS station exists, a popup will prompt the user to book an RRTS ticket. If the user does not book the ticket initially, he/she can revisit the booking history and book the RRTS ticket later. Even without purchasing the train ticket, passengers can book NaMo Bharat Train tickets for their daily use from IRCTC platform, which will be valid for the same day’s travel.

NCRTC is also considering introducing one day to three day unlimited travel passes to promote tourism in the Delhi NCR region. This landmark initiative of NCRTC and IRCTC not only promotes digitalisation and eco-friendly practices but also ensures an efficient and comprehensive travel experience for all travellers.
