It seems that Elon Musk robots, electric cars or satellites are not enough. The South African tycoon affirmed through Twitter in a message posted last Saturday that he is thinking “very seriously” about creating his own social network. An idea that was born in his head due to the problems to express himself with which he is encountering in the little bird’s ‘app’.
“Since Twitter serves as the de facto public square, failing to adhere to the principles of free speech fundamentally undermines democracy,” Musk said. “So what should be done?” He finished. Next, he published a question in which he questioned his followers about whether it is indeed necessary to create a new social network.

For the past few years, Twitter has been the playground of Tesla’s father. It is the platform he has used to communicate his intention to sell 10% of his stake in the car company and, also, the site on which he has promoted the use of innovative tools, as was the case with the ‘podcasting ‘Live Clubhouse.
During the last few weeks, he has used the little bird’s ‘app’ to launch attacks against the Kremlin because of the invasion of Ukraine. He even went so far as to challenge the Russian president, Vladimir Putinto a combat in which, supposedly, the future of the country governed by Zelenski would be at stake.
In case of launching his own social network, Musk would begin to compete with tools such as Twitter itself, in addition to Facebook, Instagram O TikTokfor capturing the attention of a user who spends more and more hours with his eyes glued to the screen.
Nor would he be the first tycoon to decide to undertake in the field of social networks in recent months. This is demonstrated by the case of the recent Truth Social, a tool launched by the former president of the United States, Donald Trump and that also uses “freedom of expression” as a hook through which to attract Internet users.
