Former India player Deep Dasgupta has said that Subman Gill will be one of the most important players in the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup series.
India’s young star player Subhman Gill, who had an outstanding performance in the ongoing one-day series against West Indies, was expected to feature in the Asia Cup and the series against Zimbabwe, but he did not get a place in both the series.
Subman Gill’s place has been lost due to KL Rahul’s recovery from injury, but India’s former players and cricket experts are debating among themselves that it is not right to sideline a young star player who has been producing consistently good performances without giving him a chance to play and we should give him credit.
In that way, the former player of the Indian team, Deepdas Gupta, has expressed his opinion through a press conference that although the opportunity has not flagged in this series, Subman Gill cannot be ignored in the 2023 ODI World Cup series.
Commenting on this, Gupta said, “It is difficult to be left out of the team after performing well in a series, but India have roped in KL Rahul to keep him in good form in both the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. This is a very short term arrangement and now Subman Gill has to prepare himself to play in the 2023 One Day World Cup series,” said Deepdas Gupta.
