NRBC Bank has donated one crore rupees from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund and one day’s salary to all levels of officials in support of the flood victims. Of this, Tk 50 lakh is being paid to the ‘Principal Adviser’s Relief and Welfare Fund’ and the remaining Tk 50 lakh is being distributed directly to the victims through branches and sub-branches of NRBC Bank in the affected areas. The board members of NRBC Bank have taken this decision in view of a circulation memo.

On Sunday (August 25), a pay order of Tk 50 lakh was deposited in the principal adviser’s relief and welfare fund account at the principal branch of Sonali Bank. Apart from this, foodstuff and cash are being distributed among the victims in various places of the affected districts including Feni, Comilla, Noakhali, Sylhet, Chittagong. Apart from this, foodstuff, medicines and water are being distributed to the flood affected areas with the personal donation of the directors and the amount equivalent to one day’s salary of the officials and employees.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of NRBC Bank, Chairman Parvez Tamal said that NRBC Bank, which is recognized as the people’s bank and ‘human bank’ of rural Bengal, is always ahead in welfare-oriented work. Millions of people in 11 districts of the country are living a miserable life due to severe floods. NRBC Bank stands by them as a friend. NRBC Bank will also take necessary steps for the economic recovery of flood affected people.

He further said that apart from financial support from CSR funds, disbursement of collateral-free micro-loans at low interest rates will be increased for flood victims to create employment, resume business activities and resume agriculture and other activities. NRBC Bank was established in 2013 by expatriate entrepreneurs. Currently providing banking services through more than 1500 service centers across the country with 750 branches and sub-branches. NRBC Bank is disbursing micro loans to make marginal people entrepreneurs. In the meantime, about 2000 crores of loans have been distributed to about 100,000 small entrepreneurs without collateral.
