A set of measures for planning and practicing strikes with nuclear weapons will be carried out during a sudden inspection of the forces and means of tactical nuclear weapons (TNW) carriers that began in Belarus. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of the Republic, Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.
“Today we received an order from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus [президента страны Александра Лукашенко] to conduct a surprise inspection of the forces and means of carriers of non-strategic nuclear weapons,” the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Defense quotes him as saying.
A division of the Iskander operational-tactical complex and a squadron of Su-25 aircraft are being prepared to carry out their intended missions. Khrenin said that during the inspection “the entire range of activities from planning, preparation and use of strikes with tactical nuclear weapons will be checked.”
