The Denver Nuggets won the first game of the NBA final, beating at home, early this Friday, the Miami Heat by 104 – 93. The home team confirmed the favoritism, taking advantage of an uninspired match by the Heat’s attack.
As expected, the size of the West winners was one of the main situations in Game 1. Players like Aaron Gordon or Michael Porter Jr. entered at a great level, taking advantage of their greater physical abilities to play under the basket. The good entrance was only possible due to the impressive game of Nikola Jokic, who ended the 1st period with five assists.
Despite these initial problems, the Miami Heat ended up having their biggest problem in the offense and the lack of hitting the pitch. The team that won the East threw only 40%, against Denver’s 50%, and the three shot was even worse, with only 33% of the attempts being used. The accurate shot has been the main weapon in these playoffs, but players like Caleb Martin or Max Struss had games to forget.
The Nuggets soon reached an advantage in the tens place and always managed to keep the Heat at a comfortable distance. At halftime they were leading by 17 points, and at the start of the last period the advantage was greater than 20 points.

Post Bam Adebayo was the Heat’s main weapon, with 26 points and 13 rebounds. Note to Jimmy Butler, who finished with just 13 points and always struggled to find offensive advantages to try to impose his game.
Game 2 of the Finals is scheduled for the early hours of Sunday to Monday, again at the Nuggets’ home, before moving to Miami for Games 3 and 4.
