Parental leave is becoming increasingly popular among men. The number of fathers who took that leave has doubled in the past decade. This is evident from figures that Peter Van Rompuy, CD&V party leader in the Flemish Parliament, requested from federal Minister of Work Pierre-Yves Dermagne (PS). In 2022, 30,402 fathers in Belgium used the system. In 2013 there were 14,849.
