Lottie Moss experimented on her own with the weight loss injection Ozempic. A decision that landed her in hospital.

“A few months ago I was unhappy with my weight. I had a friend who was able to help me,” says the younger sister of supermodel Kate Moss in an Instagram teaser for her podcast “Dream On”. Although the drug is actually intended for obese people, she used the weight-loss injection when she weighed around 60 kilograms. She got it from a friend who in turn had been prescribed Ozempic by a doctor.

“It was legitimate and came from a doctor, but it wasn’t like you go to a doctor’s office and he prescribes you the medication, takes your blood pressure and runs tests, which is necessary when you take something like Ozempic,” says Moss. She gave herself the injection in her leg and experienced a significant weight loss within two weeks, dropping to 53 kilograms.

“It was the worst decision I ever made,” she explains today. Lottie Moss had to deal with severe symptoms such as vomiting, epileptic seizures and severe dehydration. These led to her ending up in the emergency room. In the hospital, she was told that the Ozempic dose she had used was actually intended for a person weighing at least 100 kilograms.

“Ultimately, it’s a drug, it’s dangerous and actually intended for weight loss in overweight people,” she now explains, issuing a warning to her followers: “If you’re thinking about taking it, please don’t, it’s not worth it at all.” Looking back, Moss says: “I’d rather die than take it again.”
