Nutmeg, from laboratory guinea pig to new life: the rescue of a dog after two years of suffering

by time news

Nutmeg spent two years in laboratories as a guinea pig for tests: the female American Bulldog experienced the horror that she often sees as victims, above all the Beagles, her companions in this misadventure. The adorable dog was saved, and now she’s ready for her happy ending.

TikTok account @beaglefreedom let it be known that Nutmeg was one of many puppies that had tumors implanted for lab testing. He didn’t know love for his first two years of life.

“All fingers crossed for her!” commenter @theministryofgoodtaste wrote. Now that Nutmeg is searching for her perfect family, her fans are sending her all the love they can get. As @beaglefreedom explained in the video description: “If Nutmeg were a teddy bear, her name would be Love-a-lot Bear because she has an infinite amount of love to give to her favorite humans.” “This American bulldog has a whole host of qualities: She’s wise, very smart, and very cuddly. You’d never believe she was rescued from ‘unimaginable horror’ just a few days ago,” reports PetHelpful.

Before arriving in a foster family, Nutmeg went through an ordeal. As they explain from PetHelpful “she was used in a laboratory: tumors were implanted in the bodies of dogs as part of animal research, and the poor dog will have to wait almost two years to finally be out of harm’s way.”

It was the charitable souls of the Beagle Freedom Project, a Californian association that saves dogs used in laboratories, who managed to get her out of there. Since then Nutmeg has started a new life, towards a foster home that makes her feel the warmth of love after so much suffering.
