DECRYPTION – The European start-up The Exploration company has just raised 40.5 million euros from a pool of private investors. With the aim of competing with the Soyuz and SpaceX capsules.

Making Europe autonomous and sovereign in human spaceflight: this is the objective of The Exploration Company (TEC), one of the most promising start-ups in European New Space. This, with a durable and reusable spacecraft, baptized Nyx (the goddess of the night among the Greeks), also dedicated to the supply of public and private space stations in low Earth orbit and to lunar missions.

Less than eighteen months after its creation, the young Franco-German shoot announced on Wednesday that it had raised 40.5 million euros, the largest operation (in series A) on the old continent. The funding round was led by the Swedish fund EQT Ventures and the French Red River West, with a pool of investors, including funds Sista, Promus Ventures, Cherry Ventures, Partech, as well as the Dassault families, via Habert Dassault Finance, and Schlumberger.
