A large number of people from various districts came in vehicles to pay their respects at the Devar Guru Puja ceremony held yesterday at Pasumpon in Ramanathapuram district. Former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam’s vehicle was followed by vehicles belonging to his supporters. One of the cars suddenly hit the barricade at Parthibanur check post. The car then swerved and rammed into a nearby task force vehicle and hit the driver of the vehicle, policeman Mujiburraguman, who was standing nearby. He was injured in this. Immediately the police rushed there and sent him to Paramakkudy Government Hospital for treatment. Police are investigating the matter.
