On Friday, a new edition of the debut album “Definitely Maybe” will be released to mark the 30th anniversary of the album’s initial release.

And next summer, the band will go on tour. They will play 14 concerts in the United Kingdom and Ireland. These will be the only concerts in Europe in 2025.

This will be followed by a tour outside Europe later in the year.

– Rock shock! Personally, I’m really looking forward to seeing them together again, replies music chief Mats Borch Bugge at NRK regarding the news of the reunion.

Speculation peaked on Monday night when the front figures of the band, brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, shared the same video on X showing the date August 27, 2024.

Waiting Period

The reunion comes after 15 years of waiting. After many years of fighting, the brothers dissolved Oasis in 2009.

– The two brothers have made a hell of a noise through various media channels for 15 years, that they are now going to share the stage is a family therapeutic mystery, says Borch Bugge.

Both brothers have released albums and toured on their own over the years without achieving the success they had together.

Facts about Oasis

Borch Bugge says it will be interesting to see if new music comes in the wake of the reunion.

He points out that the comeback fits into the trend of bands reuniting either due to external pressure or for financial reasons.

– In that sense, this doesn’t mean much more than that they will potentially become old-timers in an insatiable live market, where many are retrospective and carry a retro mindset. But again – it all depends on whether new music comes or not. We won’t get Lennon/McCartney back; this is a form of comfort, says the music chief.

The Manchester band was founded in 1991. With 75 million albums sold worldwide.

Among the band’s most well-known songs are “Wonderwall,” “Don’t Look Back In Anger,” and “Stop Crying Your Heart Out”
