Whoever served as an education adviser to the Obama administration has admitted to the scam and could face up to 20 years in prison. His sentence will be handed down in three months

Former United States President Barack Hussein Obama’s former education adviser has pleaded guilty to fraud after plotting to steal $ 218,000 from a network of schools he founded in New York.

“Seth Andrew, 43, a former White House adviser, admitted plotting to steal from those schools he helped establish. Andrew is currently facing a federal prison sentence for abusing his status and stealing from those he promised to help,” said U.S. Attorney Damian Williams. In a statement.

The sentence could be up to 20 years in prison, according to the Justice Department. His sentence will be handed down on April 14 this year. Andrew was arrested last April, charged with misappropriation of funds from his school, and planned to use the money regarding a bank loan for an apartment in Manhattan in 2019, prosecutors said. He transferred the money to a bank account in the name of a particular organization that Andrew controlled at the time, thus hiding the connection of the money to him.

After working in the Department of Education in 2013, Andrew was given a position at the White House under then-President Obama, he served as a senior adviser to the Department of Educational Technology, and was there until the end of Obama’s tenure in office.
