After the train at 1 euro the first weekends of each month, the “+ = 0” offer for young people or the Occitanie Rail Tour, at 10 euros per day, aimed at tourists, the Occitanie region has just put put in place a new offer to develop rail traffic on its territory. This initiative, unique in France and aimed at 27-59 year olds, “aims to make the train simpler and cheaper”.
Through the Fairtiq application, travelers will thus have access, without commitment and without reservation, to the “+ = Flex” offer. “A tailor-made and flexible offer, adapted to the new mobility habits of users who want to be able to move more serenely and at a lower cost”, assures the president of the region, Carole Delga.
With this offer, the Occitanie Region and the SNCF want to take into account the new behaviors and uses revealed by the liOscope device. While 4 out of 10 travelers telecommute and current subscriptions do not take this into account and, over a year, 90% of frequent travelers have used the train for at least two consecutive months without this loyalty being rewarded, “+ = Flex wants to fit that.
In concrete terms, the traveler will not pay more than 90 euros per month, i.e. 45 euros once paid for by the employer for home-to-work journeys. Payment will be made after the trip and the user will be able to benefit from reductions ranging from 20 to 90% depending on the number of trips. In addition, from the second consecutive month of use, the traveler credits his mobility kitty with 20% of the amount of his journeys.
“The objective is simple: reach 100,000 daily passengers on our regional trains. Because I am convinced, the train remains our best asset to effectively reduce the carbon footprint of our travels and respond concretely to the climate emergency. Thanks to a policy of low prices, going as far as free use for young people, the use of our liO trains has increased by 30% since 2019”, recalled Carole Delga.
