It was full intensity on the night of December 14 at the Bello Horizonte stadium in Villavicencio, with Llaneros and Magdalena Union offering a game full of tension, emotions and a result that left the locals in their biggest dream: the first division.
The 1-0 win against Unión Magdalena helped Llanerosa score that left the overall result at 1-1, enough to buy a ticket for the highest category.
The glory goal came in the first half
With the opening whistle, Llaneros showed their intention to reverse Magdalena’s partial advantage.
From the first minutes, the Villavicencio team tried to impose their intensity, and from the first minutes they generated danger in the rival area.
Shortly after, Brayan Urueña tested the Union’s goalkeeper, but he responded deftly to keep his goal intact. The game looked set to continue for the hosts and that pressure paid off in the 39th minute.
Then Omar Duartewith a strong shot from outside the area, pierced the Union net and tied the series 1-1.
The second period of resistance for Llaneros
Already in the second half Llaneros continued to show defensive solvency and good time management. Unión Magdalena tried to discourage him, but the locals controlled the pace and kept the advantage.
In the final part of the game, Unión Magdalena increased their intensity in search of an agonizing goal that would keep them in the race for direct promotion.
Though, the locals, with the support of their family, managed to keep the nerve to resist and thus Wilmar Roldán’s final whistle came which left them installed directly in the betplay Series.
Penalties defined the fate of Unión Magdalena
Already in the penalty Unión Magdalena came to find gold and managed to buy his pass to the first division of Colombian soccer.
Jorge Luis Pinto’s team won the series 4-2 after the failures of Neider Ospina and Jhildrey Lasso.
