BarcelonaJosep Sánchez Llibre has been re-elected this Monday president of the employer Foment del Treball for four more years, after no other candidacy was presented for the position. In this second term, Sánchez Llibre has reiterated his commitment to achieve the return to Catalonia of the companies that moved their headquarters in 2017, a goal that was already part of his program in the previous term, but which did not has succeeded. At the same time, it also promises the expansion of El Prat airport, which has explained that it will reclaim it with a big event at the Iese on 21 November.

The president of Foment has assured that the employer will seek “to lead the economic response of Catalonia to the geopolitical situation making Foment an effective lobby to defend the competitiveness of companies in Catalonia, in Spain through the CEOE and also in the EU” .

The assembly held this Monday was also attended by the President of the CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, who has promised to give full support to Sánchez Llibre to achieve the goal of returning headquarters to Catalonia. According to Garamendi, “these companies want to return home and we have an obligation and a duty to work to make this happen.”
