Bhubaneshwar | Odisha Health Minister and BJD leader Naba Kishore Das was shot by the policeman. The minister was admitted to the district hospital with two bullet wounds in the chest. His condition is critical.
The incident took place in Jharsuguda. Assistant Sub-Inspector Gopal Das fired at the minister as he got out of his car to attend a function in Brajaraj Nagar. According to reports, he fired at the minister twice. Video footage of a bloodied Das being carried into a car has surfaced.
The Minister attended the inauguration of the Grievance Redressal Office as the chief guest. When the minister arrived, a crowd gathered to receive him. Suddenly there was a shooting. Witnesses said they saw a police officer running away after firing at the minister.
The motive behind the attack is unclear.
