My friend Mari is a strong woman. She is an engineer. He has a successful career. They have a significant number of rescue dogs, and have recently added cats. He has his own house with a large piece of land, just as he wanted. He has knowledge of plumbing and electricity, welding and carpentry. She is almost always happy to help others. He is on vacation right now, and I celebrate him. She needed a break. And just as he collects a tractor, he calls out the sorrows of life, past and present, and perhaps even those to come. She is like all strong women. It requires times of solitude and withdrawal. Sometimes he goes a long way without even answering messages. We are worried about your friends, but we also know your resilience. Like all of us, all strong women, she goes through moments of vulnerability, through dark nights of the soul (a figure that appears in the journey of every hero/heroine).
Dark nights of the soul are similar to depression, or can lead to depression. These moments require attention and care. Retreats, meditation, healing circles, travel, crying, cuddling, comfort food, tender movies, journalism, walks, the sea, sleep … We must work to remember where we come from and where we are going We come from Paradise and we are going back there. We come from our home and we return to that place, although the process of maturity and all the adventures and adventures we go through will make our own home, our origin, our being almost unrecognizable. The path begins with us and ends there, in ever-fuller self-knowledge.
Mari will continue her journey from Oaxaca back to Saltillo, and from here to a new stage of work and life a little far from what she has known so far. She, like all of us, will recognize ourselves along the way, recognizing the girl / young woman we left behind when we went out on the adventure. With each step we get closer to who we have always been. We will overcome many obstacles, and yes, we will often cry at first.
