The 44 deaths caused by heavy rains that hit the north coast over the weekend, only 12 bodies were identified and released for burial, according to the latest bulletin released by the São Sebastião City Hall, one of the municipalities most affected by the storm, at 11:20 am this Tuesday (21) .

On social media, Mayor Felipe Augusto reported that if anyone knows of a family member who was in the region and is missing, they must go to the emergency room, Rua Capitão Luiz Soares, 557.

Still according to management, there are between 30 and 40 people missing. Search and rescue efforts continue in the region. Psychologists and social workers also work to provide shelter to the families of the victims.

The city hall also organizes, for this Tuesday, a mass wake for storm victims. The reserved space is in the historic center of the city, on Avenida Doutor Altino Arantes. The first funeral is scheduled to begin at 11 am.

According to the Secretary of State for Health, 18 adults and 5 children who were victims of the rains have been treated so far at the Regional Hospital of the North Coast. Of this total, 6 are in serious condition and 13 are stable. Two other patients have already been discharged and two women, one pregnant and one recently given birth, were transferred to Stella Maris Hospital.
