Off to the top German nurseries

by time news

BerlinToday it will be about “The Gardener’s Big Book”. Just released, it hits stores at just the right time. This year, because we are all now thoroughly fed up with the corona depression hanging over us like a cheese bell. And anyway, because in March the sale of plants traditionally begins in the nurseries, at least in some federal states, and online anyway. The author, Anja Birne, gives a very nice overview of the important gardeners in German-speaking countries, following the binding and promising subtitle “The collected gardening knowledge from 100 interesting nurseries”. The inviting photos by photographer Marion Nickig, which accompany the texts informatively, also contribute to this.

For a professional landscaper like me, such a new release is of course extra exciting. Because I have known many of the nurseries presented in the book for years. Most of the time the visit was pleasant, but now and then a little less happy. In any case, it’s nice to see familiar faces again – because the owners were also photographed for the new band.
